Our Painted Lady Butterflies emerged from their chrysalids today. For the first time ever, we got to see one emerge (usually this takes place over night it seems) so that was really exciting! They have also been able to see them roll out their proboscis to drink, and learned to identify females and males by the size of their abdomen!
We will be releasing them before they are ready to lay eggs - just waiting for a warm, dry day. Pictures to come :-)
